Oral Hygienists' Knowledge About Systemic Diseases and Their Relationship with Oral Health

Oral health is an integral part of overall health. Systemic diseases and conditions can influence the risk of developing oral diseases. Dental hygienists can play an important role in the early detection of signs of systemic diseases and in coordinating patient care. Research findings indicate that dental hygienists recognize the connections between oral health and various systemic diseases.
