Elderly nutrition faces many challenges. Declining cognitive functions negatively affect food intake in older individuals. Elderly people with cognitive impairments consume fewer nutrients compared to those whose cognitive functions are normal, which may lead to malnutrition. Therefore, it is important to pay greater attention to the nutrition of these patients. Progressive malnutrition can worsen health, promote the progression of chronic diseases, and negatively affect quality of life and psychosocial well-being.
