Abstract

There were stated, that in the Republic of Lithuania 109 trees and bushes species are growing, which are considered as medicinal plants, when data on medicinal plant species, published in 17 books (1927-2015) were summarized. 38 autochthonous species and 40 escaped to wild or accidentally passed to Lithuania species, as well as domesticated, which are growing in parks, botanic gardens and private collections were included to the list. The 2 species included into Lithuanian Red List, only 3 rare species of Lithuanian flora and 26 species recognized by single authors as medicinal plants were not included to the list. Authors of all the books are recommending for treatment and prophylaxis only 7 species of medicinal trees and bushes such as: Berberis vulgaris, Juniperus communis, Quercus robur, Rubus idaeus, Sambucus nigra, Sorbus aucuparia, Tilia cordata.
