Ports are the foundation of international trade and a key indicator of globalization. Due to the observed environmental changes, the activities of green ports are becoming more and more relevant. In order to avoid irreversible, negative environmental changes, ports implement the Green Port concept. Green operations are a trend in seaports worldwide, and environmental management is becoming an important factor in the implementation of these port operations. In 2022, the Klaipėda State Port prepared and began to implement the Green Port concept, thus drawing guidelines for the further sustainable development of the port. The main task of this concept is not only to assess the impact of KVJU on the environment, but also to provide a plan on how to avoid the impact. The purpose of this study is: based on pollution data, the actions provided for in the concept of the Green Port, to propose relative pollution indicators that allow for a better assessment of the effectiveness of the applied environmental protection measures in the future.
