The article presents and analyses the development of the idea and tradition of ecological planning and design in town planning and landscape architecture in Lithuania, emphasizing the creative contributions of Paulius Kavaliauskas (1945–2024), Vladas Stauskas (1932–2014), Petras Grecevičius (b. 1945) and others Lithuanian scientists and practitioners to this field. The contribution of prof. A. Basalykas (1924–1986) is also discussed. The aspects of urban planning in harmony with nature, the scientific and methodical activities of these masterminds, which were and remain significant and relevant for the development of Lithuanian urban planning and landscape architecture, are analysed.
