Lithuania, as a transit country, should become a country of logistics services. Lithuanian transport lines, being part of the common European transport network, are also a natural link connecting the CIS countries and Asia with Western Europe. The geographical position made Lithuania as a transit country. Transport is very important for the country's economy and society. Mobility has a major impact on the internal market and the quality of life of citizens enjoying their freedom to travel. Transportation allows for growth of economy and jobs, and in view of the new challenges we face is to be sustainable. Klaipeda is the third largest city in Lithuania located in the western part of Lithuania. Klaipeda is an important industrial center in Western Lithuania. This article will examine the importance of the Klaipėda County transport sector and its contribution to the Lithuanian economy.
