Age-friendly housing, an aging societyAbstract
The article explores the concept of age-friendly housing, international experience in creating age-friendly housing, evaluating existing housing, its compliance with the concept of age-friendly housing and the possibility of having age-friendly housing in Lithuania. As society ages, it is necessary to ensure healthy independent aging for members of a productive society, especially the elderly. An age-friendly environment, and especially a living environment, creates opportunities for people to live in their own homes until deep old age. Aging is also possible at home when health is deteriorating and care needs arise, but homes need to adapt to the changing needs of older people.
