Urban Tree Collection in Dubrava Arboretum: the First Steps

In 2006 Dubrava Arboretum has begun to collect trees suitable for urban plantings – cultivars small-to-medium in size, with solid pest resistance and tolerance for environmental extremes. The aim is to examine and to evaluate the trees in our climatic conditions. After some years of growing and evaluation this collection will serve as the fund of propagating material for nurseries. The article reviews the first results of this work.
