Modern Urban Planning Theory and Practice Trends – as Far as They Are Relevant and Applicable in Lithuania

The city is an area of reconstructed environment, where technological (built) and natural environment must not be contrasted. Two forces – ecology and technology – affect the structure of the city. In this respect, we need to look at the evolution of urban theory and practice and contemporary trends that highlight the need and expediency of interaction and synergy between urban planning and landscape architecture solutions. The article analyses Lithuanian urban planning tendencies and problems of its interaction with landscape architecture.
