Abstract

French landscape architect and urban planner Jean-Claude Nicolas Forestier, and British landscape architect, urban planner Thomas H. Mawson left a vivid mark on the development and consolidation of the landscape architect profession in France, UK and Europe. It is logical to say that J.-C. N. Forestier and T. H. Mawson formed the basis of landscape architecture practice and theory, which were also studied by Lithuanian specialists before the Second World War. The article analyses the aspects of pedagogical, social and creative activities of these creators.
